Special Lunch

Jason was in town and I wanted to take him to one of my favorite lunch spots, Il Cane Rosso.

Their delicious sandwiches are large, so we shared a salad and sandwich.

The Mariquita Farm spinach salad came with amazing pork cracklings (from the porchetta), toasted walnuts, blue cheese and sherry vinaigrette. Really loved the cracklings—so delicious. The spit-roasted (roasted on a stick) porchetta sandwich was in a thick, crusty bread with pickled cabbage, house-made mustard and peppercress. The meat color was slightly lighter than what I remembered (probably just a different cut), but still juicy and delicious.

I wish I could eat here daily! A tad pricey, but everything at Il Cane Rosso is delicious.
