Extra Large Sandwiches

My friend, Genki, brought some sandwiches from Burlingame (I need to find out the name of the deli) a couple of Sundays ago for lunch. He's raved about them for a few weeks and we were curious to taste the sandwiches. There were four of us and he ordered three BLTs and one turkey swiss all on Dutch crunch.

Wow. When he took the sandwiches out of the bag, I was shocked. They were by far, the largest and heaviest sandwiches I've ever seen.

Being the odd one out, I had requested a turkey swiss. Pretty darn good. It was filled with the regular sandwich fix-ins such as tomato, lettuce and mayo. But, what made this sandwich extra special was the sun-dried tomato and olive spread. So good. It definitely added an additional layer of delicious-ness.

The boys' BLTs were said to be good too – filled with bacon, bacon and more bacon.

Needless to say, I didn't finish the sandwich. It was way too large (see picture 3 for comparison with a can top). I only ate 1/4 of the sandwich and the rest was saved for my next three meals. :P

To try to walk off the sandwich, we went to Union Square afterwards.
