Chilaquiles

I ordered a plate of turkey chilaquiles with fresh salsa and lettuce from Gapateria yesterday. It was my first time having chilaquiles and I didn't know what to expect. It looked like an enchilada type of dish, so I was willing to give it a try.

It turned out to be quite good. The chilaquiles was a mixture of turkey, beans and rice that had a stew-like texture. According to Wikipedia, the dish usually comes with tortillas that are fried and become the basis of the dish. I didn't taste any tortillas, but maybe because it was softened so much that it became part of the mixture. I think an extra kick of spiciness would have made this dish even better. And a nice, ice cold horchata. Yum. :)
